The Quellhütte - a historic house with character ....
With the construction of Vienna's second spring water pipeline, a new chapter was opened on the Quellhütte site. On the centuries-old foundations of an order's outpost, the City of Vienna built a new school in the Salza Valley, directly next to the spring tunnel that still feeds the well today.
The house is a solid timber-framed structure with large rooms over 3 meters high, partially covered with shingles on the outside, and plastered inside in the old Viennese tradition. The wild mix of hunting lodge and bourgeois villa creates the special charm of this "old lady" among Weichselboden's buildings.
Mayors, emperors, federal presidents... many dignitaries have visited this house in its long history. Take a look through the photo galleries and see if you'd like it here, too!

Overview of the available space...
The holiday apartment "Parterre" is located on the ground floor and is available in various sizes from 70-140 m² ("Parterre" L, XL or XXL). It has a separate entrance (No. 20/1) from the access road and can be rented for stays longer than one month (-> Permanent Rent ). Pets are welcome.
The different layouts usually consist of the same kitchen and bathroom facilities, but with varying numbers of bedrooms. This way, you get the living space you want. Unnecessary rooms remain closed, and you only pay for what you actually need.
The second entrance to the building (No. 20/2) leads via a staircase to the first floor. Here you will find the caretaker's apartment and the additional room "Rotrieg'l", which supplements the apartments when there is not enough space there.
On the second floor is the holiday apartment "Dachbod'n", which comes in various sizes from 70 to 150 m² ("Dachbod'n L, XL or XXL"). This provides plenty of space for guests – but no space for pets.

In the attic, you're in your own world. Through the windows, you can feel the power of the mountains and the magic of the stars from every seat, while the cozy warmth of the wood-burning stove crackles in the kitchen-living room.
The heart of all "Attic" versions is the kitchen-living room (39m²) with a wood-burning stove, dining table and tableware for 10 people, and a large sofa group.

The large couch invites you to read or watch TV. The skylight offers views of the Hochweichsel and the rocky ridge of the Ringkamp. Or you can observe the chamois, ibex, or eagles that visit the Rotriegel depending on the season.

The Swedish wood-burning stove with a fire window not only provides crackling warmth, but also delicious aromas when you use it for cooking!
Order the firewood at the same time – it will be ready on the day of your arrival. You'll need approximately 15 kg of firewood for a cozy evening by the stove.

The eat-in kitchen, with an induction stove, recirculating extractor hood, dishwasher, and microwave, is well-equipped with tableware and a dining table for 10 people.
The ceiling fans ensure pleasant air even on sweltering summer days, and in winter they disperse the rising heat back down to the floor.
In the pantry/utility room, you'll find plenty of space for your food supplies and a large refrigerator/freezer combination.

The "Hochstand" living gallery is located in the gable area above the living room and houses a queen-size bed for 1-2 people (140x200cm).
The "Hochstand" is more than just a small double bed - there's an additional lounge area on the platform in front of it.

The additional rooms "Lager," "Lager&Klasse," and "Leer-Klasse" can be reserved as supplementary accommodations for special requirements (e.g., "Dachbod'n XXL" with single room occupancy) (by phone or email, not available online). This provides the group with significantly more common space (maximum occupancy remains unchanged at 10 people), while the bathrooms and kitchen are located two floors above in the attic. Sports and creative groups can also book the "Leer-Klasse" unfurnished as a practice room.
